Is A Singles Fellowship For Me?

God’s Word is life, in it are God’s plans and purposes for our lives. His commandments, His promises, His rewards, His instructions are clearly stated to the Single believer wanting a closer walk with our Lord. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God (or woman) may be complete thoroughly equipped for every good work.” The Word of God is central to our ministry as we share God’s word to encourage, counsel and correct.

Acts 2:42, 46-47
“ And they continued steadfastly in the Apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and in prayers…..So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking of bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.” God would have us be involved in studying his Word, praying and fellowshipping together, and having favor with people by serving them.  All of which should be accomplished through the Singles Ministry.

Jesus taught many truths, three of which are:
1)  That we love one another (John 13:34),

      As a Singles Ministry we want to be an extension of the local church, showing and
     sharing the Love of God in alignment with His Word, serving each other, the
     fellowship at Crossroads and the community around us.

     Acts 1:8 Jerusalem, all Judea, Samaria

      meaning and application for our lives. There is huge benefit to sharing and
     discussing God’s Word.

     We will develop Specific “ Intensive” 4-6 week Studies, impacting singles
     everyday lives

     “.…..blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it” Luke 11:28

“Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication, with
              thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God” Phil 4:6
                   
                         Praying for one another is like saying “ I got your back”

C) Relationship is also very important. We want to be accessible and open our hearts and home to all who desire to develop meaningful friendships in Christ. Jesus was the ultimate when it came to relationships, in his group (the disciples) were politicians, zealots, tax collectors, fisherman and lastly a Pharisee all whom I’m sure had disagreements and a different way of doing things; yet when it came to Christ, they were able to move into very deep relationships, effecting the world for Christ. It is our desire to see the Singles Ministry feel more like a family than a singles group. Sharing the Love of Jesus, the Acceptance of the Father and the Encouragement of the Spirit.

D)  “But be doers of the Word , and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves”
        James 1:22

        As we Seek first the Kingdom of God, then we know that all these things will be
        Added unto us. Matt 6:33

        Therefore we want our Singles Ministry to be active in body ministry,
        Convalescent ministries, Orphanage, Short term Mission trips and Serving the
        Local church. There is nothing more fulfilling than serving the Lord and being
        In the place where He wants us to be, that’s Purpose!

      
        Assist others in the Singles Fellowship with their individual Ministires, more
        Hands to help. I.E. Kathy,Brenda

        As Singles search for purpose and meaning for their lives our goal will be to
        teach, that they are useful for the kingdom of God, Now! Where they are in their
        life and that God has a plan for their lives……… “to give them a future and a
        hope” Jer 29:11

         Singles should not live as they are waiting for “ That Someone” before they could
         move on with their lives or feel they are in a state of “ limbo”.  You are complete
         now, in Christ. There is an exciting anveturous life to live as we all follow hard
         after our Lord. Jesus is enough!

        
         Many Singles have done just that and have dealt with singles issues and are
         completely fulfilled with serving the Lord and that’s great! However it is still
         important to be apart of the Singles Fellowship, why? One would ask. To give.
         To share what they have been through, to encourage those who are going through
         what they have been through.  It’s all about family.

E)   Activities

      We also want the Singles Ministry to be Active! We will plan for some near and
      future events for all Singles, Friends and Family. Here is a list of some Ideas and
      of course we are open for suggestions;
            Hiking
      Summer BBQ’S
      Camping
      Dinners
      Bowling
      Christmas Caroling
      Museum Trips
      Concerts
      Day trips, Mt. Hood, The Coast.
      Lady’s Stuff
      Guy’s Stuff
            We would also like to sponsor a few major events per year such as;
            Singles Seminar                                                        
      Concert/ Fundraiser for Church missions
      Singles Cruise
      Holiday gatherings
            Short Term Missions
